MTB

Canyon_logo_2 As we do like and practice (more Sylvain than me I have to say ;-) MTB, we are happy to announce that we have started to work with two of MTB worldwide leaders : canyon and lapierre. We are translating both technical documents such as catalogues, press releases etc. and legal documents.

Language combinations are various such as French into English or English into French but also German into French or reverse. Translators must have the knowledge you find in dedicated magazines but also know perfectly how to translate technical words. Not always easy... !Logolapierre_3

Thanks a lot for all your ideas and inputs. It was not easy to choose the final logo with the right motto but at the end here it is.

A new motto for Primoscrib

We are looking for a new English motto for Primoscrib in order to replace the existing one: “Translation experts”. We would like to add it below our Primoscrib logo and we think it is important to get your feeling and ideas!

So please do not hesitate to give your thoughts & suggestions in the comments’ field of our blog.

We moved!

Primoscrib_017_8

Primoscrib_012

To keep our growth steady and prepare the arrival of new colleagues, we had to find some new offices.  We made it since the beginning of July. We did not move far away as we are still in Bures-sur-Yvette : our new offices are front of the RER B station "la Hacquinière".

Primoscrib_019

Primoscrib_011We decided to stay in the South of Paris for excellent working conditions but the capital is only 30 minutes away by RER, which still enables our customers and partners to come and visit us quite often!

Our new postal address:
14, rue de la Hacquinière
F-91440 Bures-sur-Yvette

Our phone & fax numbers remain unchanged.

Do not hesitate to come and visit us if you are in the area!

Couvc_2C+ ACCESSOIRES, trade magazine on leather crafts and fashion accessories chose us as preferred supplier for the English translation of their articles. Dedicated to fashion, it talks about new designers as well Parisian or foreign shows. We ensure the translations in English of the articles of each issue, ie every two months.

a new press article

Samedan Ltd, one of Europe's leading pharmaceutical magazine publishers, contacted us a few months ago to know if we may be interested in writing an article dealing with translation and medical field. Of course, we did! A medical translator we often work with, helped me to write this article in English. This was very interesting and I learnt a lot. I live you discovering it. This winter issue will also be distributed during the next DIA Euromeeting in Vienna in 2007, an other possibility for us to be seen and get new contacts.

Invoices' payment

Each month, I receive a couple of e-mails coming from translators all around the world and thanking us for having received their payment in time. I have to say I am always both surprised and happy to read these e-mails but I also do feel this is completely normal to have paid them in time. Indeed, Primoscrib set up payment terms in the PO sent to the translator. This is our task to respect our commitments. Thanks to payment platforms such as Moneybookers or Paypal, payments can be planned in advance and done in time. Keep our commitments, this is our moto for both our customers but also the translators we work with.

mission accomplished

It is not common to get positive feedback of customers, talking about translations and/or interpreting! Most of time, when they come back to us, that is, most of the time, when they are unsatisfied by what we have done, which is justified ! So I would like to share with you a last comment we received from one of our customers after having organized an interpreting mission in Paris for a well-known publisher. In French, sorry !

What can I add except that this is very pleasant and motivates us even more to carry on working hard to satisfy our customers.

Look for an efficient bank

Yes, indeed, I do look for an efficient but also competitive bank! I still have not found it... I am fed up writing incendiary e-mails to the person in charge of Primoscrib's account asking why some bank wires have not been made, why we have been charged for something we should not have not been etc. etc. I could write a list of thousands items but that would not solve my problem, so if anybody running a business is satisfied with his bank, please do not hesitate to send me a post and/or advise me !

CAT tools and layout

CAT tools such as Trados or  DejaVu etc. allow translators to gain in productivity and quality, that is for sure! However, when you upload a quite complicated Word file into Trados, such as one containing links to tables or graphics for example, things are not as simple as we can imagine! Indeed, when translated, the Word file does not contain any links to anything anymore... Then, you have to make it back manually... Improve productivity, fine!... but as long as original layout is kept, that would be better ! CAT tools can still be improved...
